Ceramicspeed - BB30 Road and MTB Bearing Kit

BB30 Road and MTB

The BB30 bottom bracket allows you to pair 30mm spindle cranks to 42mm inner diameter bottom bracket shells. Cannondale pioneered this standard along with specially-designed cranks and many have found the benefits to them. Road versions have a 68mm width, MTB has 73mm. These are also the bearings you can use to replace bearings in PF30 cups.

You have two bearing choices. The first choice is our low drag, long life Standard Bearing, with hardened-steel races and our super round CeramicSpeed balls. The second choice is our Coated Bearing, which uses those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag.

        Technical Data

BB30 was designed to make the bike lighter: no cups, threading, or redundant metal, plus a lighter, stiffer crank. That’s why the crank spindle is 30mm, which was a big jump up from narrow square-taper spindles.

There are two widths, road=68mm, MTB=73mm. Specify so we can provide the proper grease.

There are three grades of grease. TT and Track, All Round, and LongLife. The first is the least drag, the last is the most durable. All Round comes in road bearings, LongLife in MTB. Change the grease to tune performance.

CeramicSpeed standard bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That’s in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets. That’s thanks to balls that are 100% smoother and 15% harder than the ceramic competition. The bearings last at least three times longer than other bearings.
